Christie's celebrated art with a private reception and cocktail evening on Friday, 2nd December in New Delhi

 Christie's India marked its 4th sale in India with a private reception and cocktail evening on Friday, 2nd December in New Delhi ahead of the sale in Mumbai on 18th December. The preview was hosted by Ms. Deepanjana Klein, International Head of South Asian Modern Contemporary Art, Ms. Sonal Singh, Head of South Asian Modern and Contemporary Art and Dr. Amin Jaffer, International Director, Asian Art. 42 lots on display included some of the highlights of the sale by artists including Akbar Padamsee, SH Raza, Ganesh Pyne, Tyeb Mehta and Manjit Bawa.
As market leader for both Indian Classical and Contemporary art, Christie’s will hold its next annual sale in India on 18 December 2016 in Mumbai, at The Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, Mumbai. The auction of around 150 lots, including around 70 lots of Classical Indian Art, which Christie’s introduced for the first time in last year’s Mumbai auction. A monumental painting by Tyeb Mehta Untitled (Diagonal) from 1975, will be one of the highlights of its Modern and Contemporary Indian Art section.
