The well-known bad boys of Bollywood, Vijay Varma, Aditya Kumar and Aman Uppal are coming together for what is being touted as India’s first Virtual reality web-series produced by SpectraVR studios. Written and directed by Sumit Saxena, of Pyaar ka Punchnama fame, this is a s
tory of four friends who are reuniting in Goa after a long period of time. Along with famous actress Patralekha, they are currently shooting in the vibrant town for the series.Known for their villainous roles as Ankit Malhotra in Pink, Perpendicular in Gangs of Wasseypur and Mattoo in Mardaani, the three actors have come together to test new waters with completely different avatars. Not only will they be playing laid back, fresh young characters but will also be shooting with Virtual Reality technology for the first time. Virtual Reality, a concept that has taken the west by storm, is an immersive experience that engages the viewer in the most capturing way by giving 3-dimensional reality with a 360-degree view. The story marks the reunion of these four friends who meet in Goa taking a walk down memory lane while discussing their future with each other
Vijay Varma - "It feels awesome to be a part of India's first VR web series. The content is truly rich and funny and I'm enjoying every bit of playing it out. Doing a VR shot is just like preforming on stage. It's all in one shot and one go. All my training and experience as an actor is coming under severe test here. Really looking forward for the audiences to watch it now."
Aditya Kumar - "This is a completely new experience for me so I was very anxious about how it will turn out. I have had no experience of shooting in VR before this and had only seen the 360 degree Janam Janam video and the VR equipment before I started this shoot and I found it very cool. Virtual reality is a treat to watch and experience. The major difference in shooting for 2D and shooting for VR is the fact that we have to do a one-take act because the viewers can see us from any angle they choose to. We were quite nervous because we did scenes as long as 12 minutes in one take but it was a beautiful experience and it increased our confidence. I'm really looking forward to the reactions from the audiences"
Aman Uppal - "I had a very enjoyable and fulfilling experience. A lot of the credit goes to the writer because I think he has such thought in his writing. He has a knack of not making it sound grave or deep unnecessarily. His writing has a much deeper sense to his writing which is great because very few writers across the world can do that. The best part of VR is that you are free to do whatever you want to do. You can enjoy and have a ball in Virtual Reality. In a film, the director becomes the medium while in VR, like theatre becomes an actor's medium.
We can't wait to catch the trailer now!
