Results from Day 3 of Hockey India 7th Sub Junior National Hockey Championship 2017 (Men) A Division

~ Hockey Odisha beat Hockey Gangpur – Odisha 1-0 ~
~ Hockey Chandigarh and Hockey Punjab drew 2-2 ~
~ Hockey Haryana beat Manipur Hockey 3-0 ~
~ Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy beat Hockey Jharkhand 5-0 ~

Bengaluru, 12 May 2017: Action from the group stages continued on Day 3 of the Hockey India 7th Sub Junior National Hockey Championship 2017 (Men) A Division today.
In Pool A’s opener, Hockey Odisha beat Hockey Gangpur – Odisha 1-0 in a tough fought encounter. Ajay Kumar Ekka’s 25th minute goal proved to be the difference in a game otherwise devoid to too many chances. Both teams, aware of each other’s attacking proficiency preferred to be solid at the back as Hockey Odisha eked out a narrow win.
Hockey Chandigarh and Hockey Punjab drew 2-2 in an exciting encounter in Pool C. In an exciting and high tempo first half, Hockey Chandigarh opened the scoring almost on the hooter, Sanjay scoring off a PC to give them the lead at the break. They doubled their lead minutes from the restart, via Hashim’s 39th minute goal and looked set to take the three points. Hockey Punjab though initiated a superb fight back, and consistently attacked Hockey Chandigarh’s goal without break. In the end, they earned their reward, Surdarshan Singh scoring in the 67th and 69th minute to earn his team a draw. 
Hockey Haryana beat Manipur Hockey 3-0 in Pool B. Hockey Haryana opened the scoring in the 31st minute via Aryan Kadian and never let up. They notched up to more goals, first via Sachin Malik (50’) and then captain Sunny Malik (67’) to take home the well deserved three points.
In Pool D Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy beat Hockey Jharkhand 5-0. Shreyas Dhupe scored an outstanding hat trick (30’, 40’, 67’) in their victory. Haider Ali also got a brace for them (61’, 65’) in the victory.
