Designers Abha Choudhary, Raamz & Chandrika Raamz, Vidhi Wadhwani and Sashi Vangapalli woo the fashion fraternity with their resplendent collections
Mumbai, February 6th, 2017: 6Degree, India’s leading fashion talent and tech platform reinterpreted the forthcoming summer season’s fashion statements at its dedicated special platform 6Degree Studio on the final day of the 5-day Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2017. The platform created quite a buzz among the fashion fraternity, page 3 dominants, and celebrities of the country by launching four established designers – Abha Choudhary, Raamz & Chandrika Raamz, Vidhi Wadhvani and Sashi Vangapalli showcasing their collection on the runway. In addition, the dazzling celebrities of B’town Sophie Choudhary, Amit Sadh, Ujjwala Raut, and Sushmita Sen sashayed on the ramp, upping the glamor quotient of the collections at the highly-coveted fashion week.
One of India’s first fashion talent and tech startups launched in 2014 by Nikhil Hegde and Amit Bhardwaj, 6Degree has signed a two-year deal with LFW as its official partner wherein the 6Degree Studio was the key highlight. It is a mobile-based platform offering designers, fashion services ranging from catalog shoots, brand management, and PR to launch at multi-designer stores. STUDIO is a subscription-based platform offering expertise and helping designers take their brand to the next level via engagement and opportunities. The strategic association with Lakmé Fashion Week will enable 6Degree to build its brand equity on a global front and grow significant revenue; apart from giving the young and established designers an upgraded platform to present their fresh and cutting- edge styles on. The partnership for the next four seasons began with Lakmé Fashion Week Winter-festive 2016.

Designer Abha Chaudhary put forth her collection "Coral 101" that was inspired by the essence of the white corals and beautiful and magnificent seas. It captivates and celebrates the scintillating life beneath the elusive waters. Embodying the fluidity of the seas and the rigidness of the corals, this resort collection emphasized on subtle sensuality with a blend of easy flowing fabrics like georgettes and chiffons, coupled with brazen embellishments in the form of corals and silhouettes that expressed freedom, amalgamating summery lines and drapes apt for a sojourned state of mind. The amalgamation of beads and mother of pearls on gorgeous nudes created an alluring sense of mystery.
“It was a wonderful show and it feels great to witness the who’s who of the Indian fashion industry appreciating my collections. Founders of Raamz Design Studio, a brand that embodies exclusive wedding couture and pret-a-porter for men, Raamz and ChandrikaRaamz from Bangalore showcased their geometry-themed line of the collection representing precision, sharpness, and edginess. The silhouettes of the garments were a combination of different geometric shapes, be it straight lines, slanted lines or even curved lines. Not only the silhouettes, but even the fabric and color palette was inspired and derived from nature in earthen shades of green, orange, grey, black, blue, red and brown. To ace the theme, the collection used different fabric manipulation techniques such as basket weaving, pleats, fagoting and cowl drapes, thereby adding an aesthetic appeal to the ensembles.
Former IT engineer, Sashi Vangapalli from Hyderabad is known for her Bridal Couture and has enhanced the look of many gorgeous celebrities like TapseePannu, Kajal Aggarwal, NehaDhupiato name a few. The owner of the label “Mugdha Art Studio” presented her resort wear collection, which was inspired by the Bidri Art form originated in the town of Bidar. The collection dedicated to the new age Indian woman was a mix of the Persian, Arabic and Turkey Art Forms with a local blend. The colors of the ensembles portrayed subtleness, the modern silhouettes defined the personality, and the embellishments depicted the art form.
NIFT New Delhi topper Vidhi Wadhwani owns an eponymous label, which embodies the spirit of femininity and strength through its western and diffusion line of occasion-wear created with unique hand-done textures, seamless drapes, and edgy elements. The young designer presented her collection “La-Isla" (The Island) taking inspiration from the tiny island of Cyprus, its bohemian free-spirited culture, exotic beaches and vibrant nightlife. The line encapsulated the essence of Cyprus and the Resort-chic vibe through Grecian drapes, crushed fabrics and hand-cut 3D textures and motifs inspired by nature like the receding waves, palm leaves etc. Entwined with natural elements through the juxtaposition of layers creating dramatic yet playful silhouettes, the minimal yet luxurious collection consisted of versatile separates in terms of dresses, shirts, tunics, jackets and sari-inspired gowns in rich organza, metallic linens, crushed silks, mesh etc.
