Air India commemorates International Women’s Day by operating All-Women Crew flights

National carrier Air India celebrated International Women’s Day by operating several flights with an all women crew to domestic and international destinations. The following flights were operated from Mumbai to commemorate the day.

Mumbai-Nagpur-Mumbai (AI 629/630)
Mumbai-Ahmedabad-Mumbai (AI 091/092)
Mumbai-Bhubaneswar-Mumbai (AI 669/670)
Mumbai-London (AI 131) and
Mumbai-Dubai (AI 983/984)
The incredible women of Air India operated all types of wide and narrow body aircraft in its fleet. Besides the cockpit and the cabin crew, the check in at counters, the load and trim for the flights, security checks as also the flight dispatch was also done by women employees on these sectors.
Earlier, Air India created history by flying all-women operated flight from Delhi to San Francisco on February 27, 2017 around the world.
Besides all-women crew flights, cultural events celebrating women and their achievements were organized by Air India employees on this momentous occasion.
Air India’s mission to contribute its prowess to make women self-reliant, forms a core facet of the national carrier’s corporate social responsibility towards its women employees and reflects the “Truly Indian” tradition of showing respect to women. The airline has women employees in various positions, including women pilots, cabin crew, engineers, technicians, doctors, security personnel flight dispatchers, and executives.
