Vistara launches #VistaraWomanFlyer service; will inaugurate Mumbai-Amritsar route on International Women’s Day with all-women crew

New Delhi, March 7, 2017: In celebration of International Women’s Day, Vistara, India’s fastest growing full service carrier, today launched another industry-first service, #VistaraWomanFlyer, designed for solo women travellers. As part of the new service, Vistara will assign preferred seats to women, and will also provide baggage and transport assistance on arrival for women travelling alone.
Customers can pre-select seats during booking, after booking through the ‘manage my booking’ feature as well as during web check-in. For those who have do not pre-select their preferred seats in advance, Vistara will ensure only window or aisle seats are assigned to solo women travellers at check-in. In addition, uniformed Vistara staff will be available at the baggage claim area holding #VistaraWomanFlyer Arrivals Assistance placards, to assist women travellers with their luggage and with the booking of airport-authorized taxis, as well as escort such customers up to the taxi stand upon request.
On International Women’s Day, Vistara’s inaugural flight from Mumbai-Amritsar UK 735 will be operated by an all-women crew as part of the #WomenWhoMakeUsFly celebration of women in aviation. The airline’s pilots, Captain Latha Viswanathan and First Officer Shalmalee Joshi, along with an all-women cabin crew will be operating this flight. With this new flight, Vistara becomes the only full service airline to operate on the Mumbai-Amritsar route.
