Galti se mistake has bihu influence

The combination of Pritam and Anurag Basu has consistently delivered outstanding music every time they have collaborated. Be it the iconic rock music style of "Life in a metro" or the absolutely magical feel of "Barfi!", they have always brought something fresh and groundbreaking for the Indian audience. Jagga jasoos is no exception. With over 25 musicals and 6 full length songs, this is a formidable project for both Anurag Basu and Pritam. And the material that we have heard till now has been fantastic. It's a musical in the true sense.
Galti se mistake, the recently released song from the film has been receiving immense praise from critics and listeners alike. Not many people may know this, but the style of musical arrangement (instrumentation) of the song is largely based on Assamese Bihu folk music. The North East has a whole host of beautiful folk music and exotic instruments which the majority of the country has not been widely exposed to.
Music Producer Dhrubajyoti Phukan , who is from Assam, says, " As most of the film is largely based in the North East, it was only fitting to use Assamese Bihu for the instrumentation of the track.  We have treated the arrangement in such a way that it is a sublime blend of modern instrumentation with traditional sounds which can be enjoyed and accepted throughout the country."
Further he adds, "The song is now becoming increasingly successful and only Pritam would have had the vision to blend the world of Bihu with modern electronic music."
While describing how the song is Bihu he says, "First, the basic melodic mode  on which the arrangement is based is very common in Bihu.  Typical Bihu instruments like Pepa, Gogona, Toka, Taal and Bihu dhols have been used in the song . These are instruments used in all authentic Bihu music forms. Usually there are two or more Pepas that play in a traditional arrangement and the instrument itself does not have a wide range of notes that it can play. So, we recorded a lot of Pepa pieces, sampled them and then designed the music and outro sections with synthetically modified notes to create a unique sound, while still keeping the authenticity of the instrument . There  main music riff is in Pepa  and besides that, we have used licensed 'cumbia tribal'  sample library grooves and synthesised electronic riffs to make it there overall soundscape of the song modern and not raw Bihu. The song is also sprinkled with all the typical "crowd shouts" and Bihu chorus to add a crescendo feel in the outro.
It is amazing to see Katrina doing the Bihu dance on screen and heartwarming to behold the appreciation and acceptance of this kind of music that people have shown from all across the Nation!"
