G.O.T.E. Jam !!!– India’s first coming of age web series for the real youth

What happened to you when you reached puberty? What happened when adulthood suddenly hit you? What happened to you when you watched your first porn clip? How do you and your family members react when the word “condom” is mentioned?
The changes that these experiences bring about in an individual are often described as “coming of age” and this is associated with the age of sexual maturity (early adolescence), especially menarche and spermarche. A teenager today is well aware of a lot of these matters, thanks to the advent of the digital medium. However, these issues are never discussed with the youth at home, and adults cringe at the mere thought of doing so.
Well, here’s GOTE Jam!!! a web series from Producer-Actor G.K.Desai, the maker of Gaali - one of India’s boldest web films ever made and with works like A Dog, The Opportunist in The Mumbai Trilogy series ,the Internationally Fame short film “And Gandhi Goes Missing...” which was nominated for the Best Film at Cairo International Children's Film Festival and the Hollywood Feature Film “The Ode” also to his name
Filmmaker G.K.Desai under his banner Kiran Film Ventures has joined hands with Sanjay Reddy of Silly Monks Entertainment Private Limited to co-produce GOTE Jam!!!.
Sanjay Reddy – Managing Director of SillyMonks is highly excited to co-produce this web series. He says SillyMonks being a young digital startup is happy to create a coming of age series which a youth can relate to like hand in glove.
The series has been directed by AJ and stars Piyush Shinde, Kartik M.Sharma, Chetan Pawar and Pratik Yadav.
The mood:
The series basically has a tongue in cheek take on the issues that the adolescent deals with, using a veneer of humour to make its point. “Gote Jaam” is a popular slang terms which means that one is in a mess. The lyrics were used in a song called Mann Ki Goti Jaam Hai a while back, in the Dimple Kapadia starrer, What the Fish.
GOTE Jam is more of a realistic look at adolescent life, in a Hrishikesh Mukherjee style of storytelling about youth from the middle class, lower middle class and the teenagers from the Lowest Common Denominator as well. Issues are tackled in a very humorous manner and this story is as real as it gets for youngsters.
