Hear the voice of women today through Malini's Flotsam of the Mind

- A collection of intimate poems by Singapore based author Malini launched in Mumbai by Ajoy Mehta, Shaina NC and Pankaj Parashar -
December 14, 2016, Mumbai, India: Art is something that cannot emerge without the artist breaking themselves into pieces. There is always a part of the artist's soul that attaches itself to the art. Flotsam of the Mind for Malini is just that; a compilation of her soul. Her knowledge of form matches her ability to tell a story.
The book reads like an eloquent personal record of the author’s life, mind and myriad experiences. It also reflects upon gender violence, such as domestic abuse, child sexual abuse and other patriarchal coercions. From love to philosophy to social issues, Malini, who is based in Singapore, has a point of view on everything and shares it candidly almost unabashedly with her readers through this book. There is something for everyone in this book! This book will resonate with all the women of today who have had her fair share of struggle, love and a whole myriad of emotions over the years.
Commenting on the book, Malini said, “For everyone else it may just be another book but for me it is a victory over depression, a chance to put my expressions in words an arduous labor of 4 years. Women even today struggle with expression for fear of judgement, objectification and sexism. So it was important for me to put my work out there.  If I can any say it other woman can too. FLOTSAM OF THE MIND is a celebration of a woman's mind with all its fears, hopes, ambitions and expressions, views-her strengths and weaknesses et al.”
The book was launched in Mumbai today by Mr. Ajoy Mehta, Municipal Commissioner of Mumbai, Ms. Shaina NC, Treasurer, BJP, Fashion Designer and Social Worker and Mr. Pankaj Parashar, Admaker and Filmmaker at the Oxford Bookstore at Churchgate. Malini, the strict believer for social causes will donate all royalties to Women's Feature Service (WFS), an IPS of UNESCO focused on women's welfare ‘to better the state of women in India’.
