He fondly keeps the old tape as a token of affection and warm memories . The second musical inspirati on has been his father Ustad Rana Khan, who was a wonderful father and immaculat e music teacher.
‘Sanu ik pal’ is a seamless bl end of the legendary Punjabi f olk composition with a new Raj asthani twist to it. Mame Khan takes great pride in being ab le to recite poems and songs in the regional language Marwadi and one will be pleasa ntly surprised to find a few l ines of the ‘Sanu Ik Pal’ re-w ritten in original Marwadi. Un fortunately many instruments of Manganiyars music community are endangered, so are the regional dialects of the region. In a country where mai nstream entertainment is commo nly in Hindi or English, Mame Khan and his band is here to revive the poetic beauty of Marwadi and its dialects through their songs and music.
