At every wedding or function, the one persisting question every girl has to answer is, “When are you getting married?” Avoiding these questions has almost become a nightmare for ever girl today and taking this matter head on, the Sacchi Savitris are back with a witty video on Culture Machine’s digital channel Being Indian Music. Titled ‘Beta get Married’, the song is sung to the tune of “Rolling in the deep” by Adele with customized lyrics that will have you hooked for the entire duration.
After a very successful music video “Social Media Love”, singer and song-writer duo Rashi Mal and Vasuda Sharma are here to entertain yet questioning our age-old belief system, while at the same time leaving you inspired with new thoughts. Always singing songs on topics that rage through the minds of today’s youth, this singer duo questions longstanding beliefs of our society. The video is shot in a fun and quirky setup representing what girls of 'marriageable age' have to face from close friends & family at every social gathering they decide to attend. From saying ‘all the good ones will be taken’ to ‘you will die alone’, some people just don’t shy away from intruding on someone else’s choices and decisions!
Commenting on the video, Culture Machine’s digital channel, Being Indian Music released a statement – “Most girls even today are expected to marry by a certain age and those that don’t are questioned and doubted repetitively. This video is to defy and voice the thoughts running through the minds of all the young females. The Sacchi Savitris always take on pressing issues that affect today’s youth and we are more than glad to be working with them for their videos.”
Speaking about their new video Rashi said, “Beta get married was written out of a real life experience of attending a family wedding. It is pretty comical how all the young girls and boys of this country, and even globally for that matter, face the same dreaded questions and encounter the same hilarious situations. It was super fun working with Vasuda. I learnt a lot from her, this will be our second video together”. Vasuda said, “I think this topic is universal and every single and eligible person has to deal with this experience. Every time I happen to meet relatives ,uncles and aunties, it eventually boils down to the ultimate question of my marriage because apparently that's what makes everything. Shooting this video was a lot of fun. Rashi has done a wonderful job with the lyrics and it was fun performing the song with her”.
Whether you have been subjected to emotional torture or not, this is one video everyone will definitely relate with. It ends on an inspiring note with the girls voicing that they would like to choose their own partner and have a fairy-tale of their own choice, an opinion most girls would agree with.
