January 14-27, 2017, New Delhi: As the new year kicks in, an appealing installation made out of 30,000 of tricolor balloons complementing the avant-garde backdrop of Select CITYWALK has been put up.
Select CITYWALK, yet again has come up with something delightful. The city wasn’t over all the selfies that they posted with the enchanting train that was put up as a chandelier for Christmas and here we are, organizing the first ever international Balloon art Festival of India. The centre is organizing this festival in partnership with Qualatex, the balloon manufacturer known for its 100 percent eco-friendly balloons.
Taking place between 14th to 27th January 2017, the festival will witness 30 feet tri colored hot air balloon installation made of Balloons to celebrate republic day in the centre. Also, there will be two smaller installations and arial décor, all made of balloons.
The installation will be created by International Balloon Artist Fiona Fischer. She is the World’s most renowned balloon artist for 18 years and has traveled the world installing large scale balloon decor and teaching her skills at balloon conventions and events. Her specialty is decorating large shopping malls to draw in and amaze customers with her design and creativity with balloons.
“The conventional idea was to make a typical Indian figurine. Since my work was on balloons, I thought why not a hot air balloon? “ says, Fischer.
Along with this, the centre organized a live stage show with internationally renowned artists, Keith Stirman, Pratap Puli, Rama Krishna and Guy Sheffer on 21st and 22nd January where children came and interacted with the artists and had a weekend filled with fun and excitement.
Commenting on the announcement of the event, Yogeshwar Sharma, Executive Director, Select CITYWALK said: “Balloons have this immediate emotional effect on people irrespective of their age and when there is something as grand and enthralling as Balloon Art, the visitors are definitely going to have a great time.”
