Mumbai, 7th July 2017: Ever since the internationally acclaimed singer-songwriter Druv Kent released his debut single ‘Little Bit Of God’ in 2015, he has created a wave in the international music community, across radio, TV, social media and music critics. The UK and Singapore based singer who is associated with Multiplatform Network Qyuki is back with a brand new song ‘Long When We’re Gone’ releasing today, July 7, via his own record label distributed by Horus Music UK.
Post his iconic hit singles – each of which received strong support internationally – ‘Little Bit of God’, ‘I’m Still Riding’, ‘Glitter & Dynamite’ and, most recently, ‘What It’s All About’, Druv Kent delivers yet another track which combines the depths of self-reflection with the sound of upbeat pop. The song ‘Long When We’re Gone’ brings a retro-funk rhythm on a strong groove with a song that talks about finding the beauty in the immediate world around us; the joy in life’s simplest things. The video takes the track to an even higher level by highlighting the busy pace of the world we live in and the distracted lives we tend to lead, not helped by today’s technology and work pressures.
The singer is no stranger to fame since he is the first ever Asia-based artist to get airplay support from BBC Radio 2 in two decades for original English compositions. Druv’s prior single releases have been played regularly across leading radio stations in the UK, Australia, Singapore and India. His new song has all the hooks that suggest it can be a smash hit elevating his international status as a singer- songwriter.
Talking about the release, Druv explains “It is about realizing the beauty in the simplest things that surround us in a world that spins so fast and in a life increasingly driven by technology and the digital world”
Talking about Druv Kent’s musical journeySagar Gokhale, Network Head Qyuki, says, “Here is an artist that is truly unique. We do not have this quality of singer-songwriter creating original English music across Asia. He has created a path for others to follow and is a benchmark all on his own”
The music video of the brand new track features a powerful visual display by highly regardedTED Fellows filmmaker Puneet Rakheja, who has captured a montage of expressive frames through a sepia-style lens. The single was recorded at the renowned Rockfield Studios in Wales, UK.
Druv has written the lyrics and music for the song. The song is pre-produced by John Mayer collaborator Tim Bradshaw. The single’s production is the work of award-winning Manic Street Preachers producer and drummer Greg Haver, with Mel C collaborator Andy Taylor on guitars, longtime Chris De Burgh music Director Nige Hopkins on keyboards and Thunder’s Chris Childs on bass.
Druv Kent plays live regularly in Asia and the UK and is already in discussions about recording his next set of music in the UK and Sweden.
