~ Yakshas, Marksmen, Sherdils and Akramaks qualify for the semi-finals ~
Starting with 6 teams, 84 players, U Cypher, India’s first ever Multi-Platform Multi-Game E-Sports Championship has now reached the second last phase of its journey. An exciting journey so far, the nail biting semi finale rounds are scheduled for tonight and tomorrow. The decibel levels are peaking like never before. It’s time for the top 4 teams Yakshas, Marksmen, Sherdils and Akramaks to battle against each other to qualify for the first seasons’ finals of U Cypher with MTV.
At the end of the qualifiers, the Yakshas managed to turn around their game and are at a lead with 106 points. The Marksmen are not far behind with 92 points, Sherdils with 82, and Akramaks with 77 points. The championship has come close to an end with the swift exit of Crusaders and Yodhas last night.
“U Cypher has been incredibly impressive in its own way. Although we have only four teams in the semi-finals, all teams have showed fantastic skill and sportsmanship throughout the championship. The round robin matches have shone light on some very talented players, most of whom have qualified for the knockouts. As we move into the semi-final stage, I’m confident the top 4 teams will give audiences a great display of competitiveness when they battle it out for a spot in the finals.”says Supratik Sen, Co-founder and CEO, U Sports.
The Semi finale matches will kick off with a match between Yakshas Vs Akramaks on 18 February and Marksmen Vs Sherdils on 19 February. Just like the full team matches, these will be points based with the winners advancing to the finals to be played on 22nd February 2018.
