RPCC Meeting at Mysore - Akashvani "Still more on Public Service"

 
'Akashvani should concentrate more and more on public service broadcast but at the same time it should look at revenue generation too' said R. Venkateshvaralu, Advisor (SR – 1 & 2) at the Regional Program Co-ordination Committee Meeting held at AIR,

Mysore on 23rd Dec. 2014. 
He presented power point presentation and highlighted about cross channel publicity, various dialect programmes in Karnataka and other programmes. In the same time he appreciated commercial work done and target reached by AIR, Raichur, (M.A. Sudarshan, HOO), AIR, Gulbarga(Anjana Yatnur, HOO) and AIR Bhadravati(G.K. Raveendrakumar, ASD/HOO). B. Chalapathi Rao, Advisor of Marketing Division of AIR and DDK, South Zone also spoke on the various aspects of Commercials and revenue generation through power point presentation.

Smt. B. V. Padma, Station Director, AIR, Bengaluru chaired the meeting said strength of Akashvani and its reaches and types of programmes broadcast in Karnataka. Smt. H. S. Saraswathi, S.D. of Commercial Broadcasting Service, Bengaluru said different type of programme attract listeners and small duration of programmes will be more useful to listeners.

Shri K. Shreenivas, ADP of AIR, Mysore welcomed the gathering and gave a briefing on Mysore station. Various agenda points were discussed by the members.
Dr. Vasanthkumar Perla, ADP and Program Head of AIR, Mangaluru and also a well-known personality in the field of Art, Literature and Theatre was felicitated after the meeting on the occasion of his retirement on superannuation on 31st Dec. 2016. Dr. Vasanthkumar Perla's contribution to the media was remembered and applauded by the colleagues in the farewell function. Dr. Perla, has worked as Program Executive and also as Program Head at different AIR stations of Karnataka like Hassan, Mysore, Karwar and Mangaluru, and who encouraged thousands of writers to come-up in the field of art and literature. His contribution and achievements were acclaimed by Smt. H.S. Saraswathi, S.D., CBS, Bengaluru, Smt. Ushalatha, ADP, AIR, Chitradurga, S.S.Umesh, ADP, AIR, Bengaluru, K.Shreenivas, ADP, AIR, Mysore, Shrinivasprasad, ADP, AIR, Mysore, Sathish B. Parvathikar, ADP, AIR, Dharawad, Smt. K. Malathi, Hindi Officer, AIR, Mangaluru, Basu Bevinagidad, PEX, AIR, Karwar, Sadananda Holla, PEX, AIR, Mangaluru, K. Ashok, PEX, AIR, Raichur and Divakar Hegde, PEX, AIR, Dharawad in their speech.

In his presidential address, appreciating Dr. Vasanthkumar Perla's wonderful Public Relations, R. Venkateshvaralu, Advisor (SR - 1 & 2),also remarked that Dr. Perla is a good Programmer, an able Administarator and also a good writer both in Kannada and Tulu. 'Though Akashvani is losing one good hand, he may continue to work for media as a whole' said Shri B. R. Chalapathi Rao, Advisor Commercials. Perla was very good administrator and we worked together said Smt. B. V. Padma, SD, AIR, Bangalore.
