Mumbai, February 17: South Zone bagged double crowns winning the Kabaddi and Volleyball finals in the 49th All India Central Revenue Sports Meet at Goregaon Sports Club on Thursday.
In the kabaddi final, South Zone got the better of East Zone by a close 36-33 margin to emerge champions. Earlier in the semi-finals, South tamed North Zone by a comfortable 48-34 scoreline and East overcame hosts West Zone by a slender 24-23 margin.
In the volleyball competition, South Zone proved too good for East Zone winning 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-20). In the semi-finals, East Zone defeated North Zone 2-0 (25-16, 25- 7) and South Zone outplayed West Zone 2-0 (25-2, 25- 4).
Results - Kabaddi – Final: South Zone bt East Zone 36-33. Semi-final: South Zone bt North Zone 48-34; East Zone bt West Zone 24-23.
Volleyball – Final: South Zone bt East Zone 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-20); Semi-final: East Zone bt North Zone 2-0 (25-16, 25- 7); South Zone bt West Zone 2-0 (25-2, 25- 4).
