~ The watch before the world premiere hosted last evening was preceded by a remarkable appreciation session by Sonali Bendre ~
In a city that never sleeps, Mumbai’s Wednesday was made a lot more electrifying. Wednesday night, at the India Premiere of Book Club, a torrential downpour of stars was seen with celebrities ranging from Twinkle Khanna, Sonali Bendre, Gayatri Oberoi, Suzanne Khan, Anu Dewan, Pinky Reddy, Bhavana Pandey Jaya Raheja, Shalini Zaveri and Kirti Kulhari. While Jane Fonda, Diane Keaton, Candice Bergen, and Mary Steenburgen show us how to be sexy after 65 in their new film, we can surely say that the India premiere of the film didn’t see any less sizzle!
The premiere, hosted in association with Sonali Bendre and her popular online initiative, Sonali’s Book Club (SBC), also witnessed a one-of-its-kind and exclusive session for the guests. Hosted by none other than the stunning Sonali Bendre, the fun and inspiring session entailed the importance of books, SBC community and expectations from the film Book Club.
“With the daily commotion of life, one often forgets the joy something as simple as reading can bring. With these initiatives, we hope to keep the love for reading alive. The Book Club is such a great take on the joys Book Clubs can bring and the friendships that are developed through them. There was no second thought when it came to being a part of the India Premiere and hosting this session, in association with PVR Pictures, who has been wonderful in putting this evening together. I’m looking forward to bringing you many more such initiatives from SBC”, says Sonali Bendre.
Talking about the movie, Kamal Gianchandani, CEO PVR Pictures Ltd. said, Book Club is a feel-good film that follows four lifelong friends. The magic the four leading ladies create on screen is phenomenal. It is no surprise that it is the most anticipated release for us. The film is a refreshing take on how last chapter just might be the best one yet. It was a pleasure having Sonali Bendre on board to support the film and we can’t thank her, and the other folks enough for all the love”
Four lifelong friends have their lives turned upside down to hilarious ends when their book club tackles the infamous Fifty Shades of Grey. Diane (Diane Keaton) is recently widowed after 40 years of marriage. Vivian (Jane Fonda) enjoys her men with no strings attached. Sharon (Candice Bergen) is still working through a decades-old divorce. Carol’s (Mary Steenburgen) marriage is in a slump after 35 years. From discovering new romance to rekindling old flames, they inspire each other to make their next chapter the best chapter.
