Smt. Mridula Ghodke, News Reader cum Translator, Akashvani Pune retires on 31st August, 2019.



Smt. Mridula Ghodke joined as casual News Reader cum Translator in January 1984 at News Service Division, New Delhi. In January 1986 she got a permanent appointment. In 2002 she became in-charge of Marathi National News Section at New Delhi. In 2016, decision of shifting Regional News Section to respective state capital was implemented. Mrs. Ghodke preferred to join AIR Pune. On 31st August Mrs. Ghodke retired on superannuation from AIR Pune. 

Mrs. Ghodke is having interest in art and design. Under her direction Ministry of Railway presented Tableau at Republic Day parade in 2002 and bagged 1st prize. She worked as interpreter and language consultant for Rashtrapati Bhavan, Parliament and Films Division. Several statements and announcements released by Prime Minister office were translated by her in Marathi. She also contributed in producing advertisements for various schemes declared by Government of India.

The Civil Service Examination (CSE) is a nationwide competitive examination in India conducted by the Union Public Commission for recruitment of various Civil Services of Govt. of India. State Govt. of Maharashtra nominated Mrs. Ghodke as member of this board who conducted Mock Interviews. She also contributed as language consultant and interpreter for UPSC.

Mrs. Ghodke has given more than 33 years of her prime life to the organisation & her contribution has helped this organisation stand as proud public broadcaster of the country. Her sweet and soft voice, fluent pronunciation was a feast for listeners while listening regional news. She will be remembered for pleasant nature, sincerity, full devotion and ever smiling face, in AIR Pune.
