Shri Baraha Kumar Mohanty Retired Station Director, AIR, Cuttack; former Director, NABM, Bhubaneswar and former Director, Doordarshan, Bhubaneswar breathed his last today morning.

He was the channel manager of DD news, DD sports, DD northeast at Doordarshan Bhavan, Mandi House, New Delhi.
He was the only person who was simultaneously Director of AIR Cuttack, Doordarshan Bhubaneswar and staff training institute, Bhubaneswar.
He was a trained professional in broadcast management from Thomson Foundation, Cardiff(UK) in 2000 and development in communication training of Sussex(UK),2002, at Dhaka.
Education-
Master in Economics in Ravenshaw college, Cuttack in 1968.
Started lectureship in Aska college , Ganjam(1969-1975). Simultaneously he served as senior NCC officer(1971-1975) in Aska college.
Served at Akashvani from 1/12/1975-1988. During his service he served at AIR Cuttack, Jaipur, Sambalpur, Kohima, Tura, Gangtok and Raipur.
He served at Doordarshan from 15/09/1988 to till retirement on 30/04/2007.
He was survived by his wife Prativa Mohanty, eldest daughter Pallavi Priyavadinee staying at Dallas,USA, 2nd daughter Purabee Priyadarshini staying at Vizag, youngest daughter Karani Kadambini Kar staying at Bhubaneswar, only son Biswanath Kalicharan(Bapu) staying at Bangalore.
