Everyday 6.1 million people travel on the Mumbai local trains. It’s an overloaded network of trains that’s often called the lifeline of Mumbai. But for some people this lifeline spells death.
In pursuit of chasing their passion in the city of dreams, the populace often overlooks the basic danger involved while commuting by local trains. Tons of people lose their life, limbs and an ability to lead a normal life due to railway accidents and their families also suffer due to their carelessness. The film sincerely explores the steps that have been taken to reduce daily accidents and then goes on to talk about the right solutions we need to solve them. We have a major issue at hand which needs to be addressed at the earliest, collective measures by the people and the government will pave a path to a better future for many.
Commenting on the documentary release, renowned poet, writer and actor, Piyush Mishra said, “Sadly, every day we hear numerous stories of commuters losing their lives in railway mishaps. It is easy to comfortably sit and comment on matters relating to railway maintenance, infrastructure, or up-gradation but I strongly feel the core reason is awareness. These unfortunate incidences can happen to anyone and hence there is an urgent need to spread awareness and I am delighted to lend my voice to this powerful video that aims to do the same."
Being Indian released a statement, “It’s saddening to hear about a large number of people lose their life while travelling by trains, it’s even sadder to know that the situation persists and people turn a blind eye to such issues. We created this documentary so that we could curb the inevitable accidents.
It’s time we look back at the famous saying ‘a stitch in time saves nine.
