At Akashvani Pune, What made a Hero of Kargil and 71 War emotional - People, whom we call Beggars donate for War Widows

AIR Marshal (Retd) Shri Bhushan Gokhale recently visited Akashvani Pune for recording for the serial "Salam Vardi". He had lots of success stories and memories of Kargil war and 1971 war to share. A point which made him and all of us emotional was ::

AIR Marshal (Retd) Shri Bhushan Gokhale was invited by Railway Authorities to deliver a lecture on the dedication of our soldiers who work relentlessly at the borders to make us safe and peaceful. Railway authorities did donate Rs.50,000 each to AIR Marshal (Retd) Shri Bhushan Gokhale and his wife who work for the war widows. The climax point of the story came when the Beggars of Railway station came forward and presented an envelope of Rs.3500/- as their humble contribution for the widows of the soldier who have made supreme sacrifice by giving away their lives to save our country. This contribution of Rs.3500/- was not less than the gift of Sudama to Lord Krishna and made the strong build man AIR Marshal (Retd) Shri Bhushan Gokhale highly emotional.

What an invaluable gift from the Beggars of Railway station. Akashvani salutes them from the deepest core of the heart.
