Farewell to Ms Rashm Pradhan, DDG(P) NABM, Delhi

Ms. Rashmi Pradhan, Dy Director General who has been looking after programme and administration training at NABM Delhi is attaining superannuation on the 30th November 2017 after a long tenure of meritorious service in the department. One among the few who is equally at ease with the radio and television media having worked in both, she leaves behind a rich legacy of content management, quantified and qualified to sustain in a contemporary industry.

Ms Pradhan joined the service at Doordarshan Cuttack in 1982. In the years that ensued, she looked after the programme streams of health, education, science and children apart from developmental communication. By 2006 when she moved to the then Staff Training Institute (Programme) at Bhubaneswar, she was Director at AIR Cuttack. The best trainer award which sought her thrice was indication of her maturing in the training division. In 2012 she was transferred to DG: AIR and since then has admirably handled many portfolios at the Directorate. Along with NABM and its regional units she handled the PP&D wing of DG: AIR, DD Archives, DD Bharati, DD Sports and DD Music & Dance section with finesse. It is to her credit that she could meticulously coordinate the ABU Dance Festival this year and oversee the Sports Conclave of DD Sports, a new concept.

Ms Rashmi Pradhan has been with the apex training body since 2012 and had effectively been involved in the smooth transition of the erstwhile Staff Training Institute and regional institutes to the professional National Academy of Broadcasting and Multimedia and regional academies. The successful conduct of the induction training for the first ever recruits of Prasar Bharati with a state of the art approach was widely appreciated for its design excellence, objectivity and timely conclusion. The recruitment against the identified vacancies for the PwD category for eleven programme posts at the national level proved her administrative acumen, the effort contributing much to the professional standing of NABM.

On this occasion, the entire fraternity of the National Academy of Broadcasting and Multimedia with its regional units extend their warm wishes for a peaceful, contented and healthy retired life and expect she would continue to contribute to the media industry from her vast experience.
