In an attempt to meet the media needs of consumers and reach out to a younger audience, AIR has teamed up with Amazon and thanks to a recent partnership between the public broadcaster and Amazon Echo service, people from all over the world can tune into AIR by giving a voice command. To avail the 'voice on demand' service, listeners need to buy the 'Echo' device from Amazon's e-commerce platform. AIR Director General, Shri F Sheheryar confirmed this partnership, and as per a report in the Indian Express, he also mentioned that adding there was no financial implication of this partnership for AIR.
