Born on 9th February 1923, Shri M.S. Rao had joined Broadcasting House, All India Radio, Delhi on his b'day i.e. 09-02-1949 as Technical Assistant. Later on he served at All India Radio, Hyderabad, Madras, Kadappa, Lucknow, Aligarh and Mumbai. Shri M.S. Rao also worked as Installation Engineer for Doordarshan and installed Doordarshan Studios/Transmitters at Raipur, Rewa, Unnav (Kanpur) and Jalandhar. Shri Rao later again came back to Broadcasting House, All India Radio, Delhi, from where he had started his career, and retired from the same place in 1981 as EnC (SgE). Later he went to Tripoli, Libiya as technical advisor and stayed there for 4 years. After his return to India, he remained active in professional organisations like IETE, BES etc and became a popular science writer too.
