AIR-Adilabad goes live.

Here is the good news to lovers of this region's unique dialect and listeners of All India Radio-Adilabad station as well! The programmes of the public broadcaster are going to be aired 24/7 online. The listerners now can enjoy the programmes at any time and from any part of the world. They can easily access to the live streaming audio services using the free All India Radio LIVE mobile application which is can be downloaded on Google's Play Store.

"The 100.2 FM, the local radio station of AIR, catering to the erstwhile composite Adilabad district can now be heard in crystal clear quality not only in the remotest Adivasi hamlets of Adilabad but also from anywhere across the globe," S Sumanaspathi Reddy, the programme head of the radio channel told Telangana Today. The local radio station was the only the second Telugu radio station available on the mobile application. "No single transmitter's signals can reach the entire programming zone – nearly 300 kms wide — of this station. And this has been a painful constraint on the station's operations for more than 33 years of its existence. With the help of the All India Radio Live app, we could overcome the limitation, once for all. People belong to this region living anywhere in the world can now feel connected with their homeland. And Telugus across the world can enjoy the unique inflexions and pleasures of the Adilabad dialect," he underscored.

"For the Raj Gond, Kolam and Naikpod adivasis, as well as for other tribal communities of the four districts, who constitiute a big percentage of our audience, we have a lot of spoken word and musical programmes in their own languages," he added. The distinct USP of the station is its full -fledged use of authentic Telangana dialect of the region in all its live programmes. The slang used by announcers and presenters is colloquial and can be found in conservations of locals. In fact, this radio station is the only public broadcaster in doing so at present and could generate its own bases audience through this way of presenting programmes over a period of time.
