Work shop on Gender Sensitive programming

One day workshop on "Guidelines for Gender Sensitive programmeing" organised by Doordarshan in collaboration with  UNICEF  and CMS at DDK Bengaluru on 18.07.2019.  Dr. Rajkumar Upadhyay, Addl. Director General South Zone (AIR & DD)  said gender sensitivity, the modification of behavior by raising awareness of gender equality concerns.  This can be achieved by conducting various sensitization campaigns, training centers, workshops, programmes etc., and hence Doordarshan is conducting workshop here said in his presidential address. 
After the inaugural function,  session started  by Haritha Sharma explained understanding and consideration of socio-cultural factors underlying sex based discrimination.  The term also applies to attitudes that socialize girls and boys into certain behaviors or opportunities, for example pushing boys to play sports or not expecting girls to do well at sports.  Programmes should take every opportunity to promote gender equality and facilitate the mobilization of women.  Policy makers should invest in capacity-buildings to ensure that those designing and implementing social programmes at both the national and local levels are aware of gender issues. 
After noon session conducted by Smt. Vasanthi Rao and she explained  the principle of gender equality  is enshrined in the  Indian constitution in its preamble, fundamental rights, fundamental duties and directive principles.    Both session was done with practical  exercises.

Padmavathi, ADP  and staff of DDK, CRD ie more than 40 participants were attended in this workshop. Suman Sanjay Agarwal, Programme Executive co-ordinate the entire programme.
