After having served for more than 29 years at AIR Stations like AIR, AHD, AHWA & DAMAN got retirement as Programme Executive from VIVIDH BHARTI, Ahmedabad on 31.12.2020.
In those 29 odd years, I had held different sectional works, produced Programmes in different genres and had interacted with a huge cross section of the society which included Artists, Politicians, Common Citizens ,Doctors, Scientists, Govt officials etc.
My most memorable tenures in the career were at AIR, Ahwa (Dangs) and AIR,Daman(U.T)
I would not want to work anywhere else, if given another chance. Programme production and all the steps involved in it – be it conceptualization, planning, proposals, recording, editing, broadcast and discussions about its impact were all more interesting to me than any desk job ( even if it meant higher salary & perks) in some other dept. I relished every moment of programme production, as in this particular work, only sky is the limit to your conceptualization of topics / genres and treatment of the subject.
I have considered AKASHWANI as an living Entity…What this cultural institute has given to the Indian society can't be measured in terms of revenue.
AKASHWANI has given me everything, Name, Fame, Honor, Status, The Widened Horizons and what not….VANDAN AKASHWANI .
