Former News Editor of Doordarshan and All India Radio, Aizawl Laldingliana Sailo passed away in Aizawl yesterday morning. He was 76. He was suffering from acute leukaemia in April, diagnosed this year and was undergoing treatment at CMC Vellore. Returning to his home at Aizawl this Monday, he was again admitted to local private hospital where he breathed last this moring at 7.25am. He was survived by his wife, two daughters and two sons. A large number of people including media persons from official and private media attended his funeral ceremony at his residence.
Laldingliana Sailo, an Indian Information Service (IIS) officer was inducted to Field Publicity Officer under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in 1972. Since then he served different media units in various capacities. He served news units of All India Radio and Doordarshan Kendra, Aizawl as News Editor for long years. He had been regional director of Directorate of Field Publicity, in Kohima and held this post till his retirement in 2006.
After his retirement Laldingliana Sailo continued to work as Chief News Editor at Zonet Cable TV Network Pvt Ltd.
