A note on the collection:
United Colors of Benetton’s SS17 collection for women features a mix of prints on t-shirts and mini dresses – an ideal wardrobe that pays tribute to traditional ceramics with floral arabesques and geometric patches on dresses, little sweaters and polo shirts, as well as featuring a modernist mood. The colour block or striped denim dungarees, stretch t-shirts and tops reference United Colors of Benetton’s heritage as a creator of stylish casual looks. Summer continues in a shower of hibiscus flowers for pretty, feminine looks – pleated skirts and mini shift dresses, shading from white to periwinkle with the brand’s renowned expertise in colours, to pair with snowy white wide-legged cropped pants knotted at the waist. Arty flowers also feature on jersey and stretch cotton figure-hugging t-shirts, long sleeve tops and maxi dresses in chic shades of black and midnight blue, to wear with a flat sandal and minimal accessories for a sophisticated but easy evening look. All black vest tops that leave the shoulders bare and pleated culottes are the last word in cool.
Spring Summer 2017 style for men is cool. With colours ranging from pastels that recall Cuban sunsets to the candy colours of colonial buildings, pale blues, reds and oranges shading to blue. Masculine, vintage-inspired prints feature ‘Sixties cars and Art Deco buildings. For a more dressed-up look that’s perfect for the office or dining out, there are mini-check shirts – also in pink with its own bow tie – and revamped windowpane checks with a pop feel in shades of dark and light blue for polo shirts with contrasting collars, to pair with unlined denim jackets.
More preppy apparel includes classic rugby shirts in deep, rich shades from turquoise to mustard yellow, and polo shirts, and micro tie-pattern shirts in air force and dark blue. All easy pieces to wear with jeans or long denim bermuda shorts in various washes and treatments, from stone washed to destroyed. Crew neck t-shirts with shaded pixel motif prints provide a youthful, “digital” look for the modern man.
