Mona Ujagre scores in Nashik’s victory
Mumbai: Nashik District managed to eke out a narrow 1-0 win against Dhule District in an opening league match of the Maharashtra State Inter-District women’s tournament and played at Jalgaon. In a well-contested encounter, the Nashik girls’ came through courtesy of a first-half goal scored by Mona Ujagre in the 19th minute of the match.
In another match Bhandara District blanked Parabhani District 6-0. Strikers Aishwarya Budhe, Archana Bhaladare, Jaya Kumar, Puja Dhande, Roshani Kharole and Sharada Yede scored one goal each to complete Bhandara’s win.
The other two matches were one-sided affairs with Yavatmal District thrashing Ahmednagar District 14-0 and Aurangabad District crushing Gondia District 10-0.
Results: Nashik beat Dhule 1-0.
Bhandara beat Parabhani 6-0.
Yavatmal beat Ahmednagar 14-0.
Aurangabad beat Gondia 10-0.
