Mumbai, 16 January 2017: This Road Safety Week, RED FM and Thane Traffic Police organised TEAM (Traffic Education and Awareness Mission), a week-long Road Safety Mission which brought together the citizens of Mumbai to educate them on the basic sense of traffic.
Friday, 6th January - The event began with the reveal of the mascot and communications as well as speeches by renowned dignitaries like DCP Sandeep Palve (Traffic, Thane City), Actor Milind Gunaji, Actor Shekhar Suman, Param Bir Singh (Commissioner of Police, Thane City), Sanjeev Jaiswal (TMC Commsissioner), Ashutosh Dumbare (Jt. CP, Thane City) and RJ Rishi Kapoor and Actor Preeti Jhangiani.
Saturday, 7th January - A Women’s Bike Rally was conducted which was flagged off by RJ Nassar and Actress Amrita Rao.
Sunday, 8th January - saw men riding their bikes for the Men’s Bike Rally which was flagged off by RJ JMAN and Actress Shriya Saran. RJ Nassar and RJ JMAN were pronounced Traffic Marshalls for the respective events.
Tuesday 10th January - Inspired by RED FM’s Gentlemen ki Baat, Thane Traffic Police in association with RED FM also conducted the “Aao Bachon Tumhe Sikhayein” initiative. The event was conducted for about 1200 school children and encouraged children to become responsible citizens of the country. RED FM RJs like Malishka, Rishi Kapoor, Abhilash and JMAN conducted a 30 minute session where they introduced the kids to RED FM’s Gentleman ki Baat campaign. The session was accompanied by a number of competitions for the children.
Thursday, 12th January - RED FM organised the “Roko Mat Jaane Do” initiative. The idea behind conducting this event was to make people aware of basic traffic regulations like giving way to ambulances, wrong side parking, breaking signals and double parking. RED FM’s RJs shamed the wrong-doers on air in order to cultivate a strong civic sense in them.
Saturday, 14th January - The closing ceremony for the event was attended mainly by the family members of the Thane Traffic Police. RED FM’s RJ Malishka interacted with the crowd and was also facilitated at the event. As part of her speech, she introduced the Marathi show – “Chala Hawa Yevu De” which will dedicate an entire episode to the Thane Traffic Police.
In an effort to improve the environment that we live in, Red FM has been known to associate itself with campaigns such as the Road Safety Week which strive to make our society better. The RJs at RED FM feel for such issues and strive to do their bit to better the situation.
