ISPTD will be organizing the Dance World Cup-India Qualifiers in association with Lourd Vijay and One page spotlight. The event will be directed by Lourd Vijay, along with the Dance World Cup chairman Mr. John Grimshaw and his team of international judges from Romania that will include Andra Gheorghe and Bog
This year to give more dance schools and dancers the opportunity to represent India at the DWC, ISPTD is encouraging Indian dance artists and dance schools throughout India to participate in the finale. The DWC India Qualifier will be a stepping stone for Indian dance artists especially from the folk and classical arts disciplines residing in Tier 2, Tier 3 and remote parts of India towards global recognition and an opportunity to establish themselves. Team India has been winning medals continuously for the past five years beating countries like Great Britain, France, Spain, Portugal etc. in the DWC and last year stunned the world by winning two golds.
Commenting on DWC, Lourd Vijay said - “It is a huge opportunity for us Indians to display our dance abilities in the international arena. Today, with the global rise of music and dance, artists now have plethora of options to learn and grow in this upcoming field. With DWC, we intend to take India to the highest levels across the world in the field of dance. We encourage talent across India to participate and promise to assist anybody who has the motivation to make it big”.
The DWC 2018 world finals will be held on Friday 22 June 2018 to Sunday 1 July 2018 in Barcelona, Spain. Lourd Vijay’s Dance Studio will be the event partner and will be organizing the Qualifiers of the DWC in Bangalore. The last day for entry will be January 5, 2018.
