Mumbai Police was Honored at “Dalmia Lions Utsav 2K17”
2000 students from 100 colleges participated
Mumbai : 22nd December 2017- Like every year Prahladrai Dalmia Lions College of Commerce & Economics celebrated its famous 28th Dalmia Lions Utsav 2K17. The college fest was organized on 21st December and 22nd December 2017. Competitions such as Performing Arts, Literary Arts, Fine Arts, Gaming and Sports, Management and Film Fest, Informal, and IT Fest were carried out successfully. Famous Comedian Naveen Prabhakar, actor Ramesh Goyal, photographer Aishwarya Nayak, singer Dinesh Ghate, playwright Nath Nanda and many celebrities were the Chief guests. 2000 students from 100 colleges in Mumbai had participated for 50 competitions.
This year, we took the initiative to dedicate our theme to Mumbai, so we had a theme named (MUMBAI - I_M_POSSIBLE) where journey matters more than the destination in the two days event. On the second day of the fest, we invited senior inspector of Malad police Sudhir Mahadik and assistant police inspector Deepak Sawant and they were honored and we invited Senior Inspector of Malad Police Sudhir Mahadik and Assistant Police Inspector Deepak Sawant for felicitation. I feel that police deserves the more respect because their performance is very big Today, we are safe as Mumbai Police do their jobs for the night and everybody should respect Mumbai Police and their activities- said Dr N.N Pandey, Principle of P.D Lions College.
I feel that all the students have successfully accomplished this event together. I am always proud of the way students have taken this whole fest. This year P.D Lions College students visited railway stations, bus stops, beaches and various public places to make citizen aware about civic sense through dance performance and banners. “It is always my endeavour to give good training to the students in various departments- said "Subhashini Naikar, Vice Principle of Self-Fine Course and Dalmia Lions Utsav Coordinator.
Two new competitions, Mumbaikar Dance and Bajte Raho in the Performing Arts section, became a special attraction for the students and the students took pleasure in it. About 150 participants from 20 colleges participated in this competition. Music can be produced by using any tool. Similar was the concept of Bajate Raho. This competition is a multi instrument, making music with the help of instruments like drum, tasha, spoon and stick etc.
