Obituary - Akashvani anchor Sudha Narawane passed away in Pune



'आकाशवाणी पुणे, सुधा नरवणे आपल्याला प्रादेशिक बातम्या देत आहेत...' Once upon a time this voice made listeners habitual to listen 7:00 a.m. regional news from AIR Pune which was relayed throughout the Maharashtra. This famous voice of Smt. Sudha Narawane was very popular among the Marathi radio listeners. Marathi regional news means Smt. Sudha Narawane was equation in every listeners mind. This famous news reader and writer is no more. She had massive heart attack on 23rd. July 2018. She was 88. 

She was associated with AIR Pune and Marathi regional news for more than 10 years. Her contribution in Marathi literature is also notable. At the young age she started writing short stories, short compositions. She wrote and translated many famous books in Marathi like 'Indradhanu', 'Te Athara Seconds', 'Lamandiva', 'Janani: Mata, Kanya,Matrutwa', 'Itawa Munda Ne Ladhai Jinkali: a story on tribal life.. She was regularly writing articles for famous Periodicals like 'Satyakatha', 'Kirloskar', 'Hans', 'Stree' and 'Manus'. She was honoured by Maharashtra State award and many prestigious awards.
