BES Expo 2020, the 26th International Conference and Exhibition on Broadcast and Media Technologies inaugurated on 13 Feb



BES Expo 2020, the 26th International Conference and Exhibition on Broadcast and Media Technologies was inaugurated today, 13th February 2020. The theme of the Expo is Disruptive Technologies - Shaping Future Broadcasting. The Conference will be held for 3 days from 13th February to 15th February 2020. The Expo was inaugurated by Shri Shashi .S. Vampati , CEO, Prasar Bharati amongst the presence of Member Finance, Prasar Bharati, Shri Rajiv Singh and Director General TSDSI Delhi Smt. Pamela Kumar. 

Smt. Pamela Kumar, Director General, TSDSI Delhi as key note speaker, elaborated on details about the development of 5G technologies in India and how to embrace it to have full advantage in broadcasting. 

In his inaugural speech, Shri Vampati spoke on 10 years of Mediascape ahead from now. He stated that provided a correct road map is being implemented, the target of Prasar Bharati is to reach to about 50 million household and become a billion dollar enterprise. Changing the form of the broadcasting into a new model ,which is developing, now with the advent of IT & Cloud based technologies as is being followed by Amazon and Netflix. The usage of AI algorithm extensively in the broadcasting sector was stressed upon. He also made a mention about the digital platform of Prasar Bharati in line with the vision of Hon'ble Prime Minister of India of Digital India and Prasar Bharati streaming more than 200 radio streams of All India Radio through News on Air App. 

Shri Rajiv Singh, Member (Finance) of Prasar Bharati also spoke on the occasion stressing the use of artificial intelligence technologies in the day-to-day broadcasting for the viewers and listeners to cater to their personal choices of programmes . He gave an example of Alexa based radio programme dissemination being done by All India Radio and in future how the same Alexa/SIRI kind of services can be used by the broadcasters to cater to the different genres and languages of programme to different audiences and viewers. 

During BES Expo 2020 about 500 delegate will attend the Seminars and Exhibition. Around 40 exhibitors of National and International repute are participating from India and abroad and displaying their broadcast products and technologies.
