Pune Hams VU2RCP along with मराठी विज्ञान परिषद पुणे, TTA, Muktangan Science Exploratory, Padmini Electronics & IETE jointly celebrated World Radio Day on Saturday's 13th February 2021. Venue was BVB's Muktangan Exploratory Science Centre, Pune. Vintage Radio Exhibition of Mr Shripad Kulkarni from VU3YBU was open to public.
BES(I) Pune Chapter & Akashvani Pune Parivar actively participated in this function. A stall was put up in exhibition to display Digital (DRM) Radio. Mrs Chitrarekha Kulkarni, Vice Chairperson, BES(I) Pune Chapter & Asst. Director AIR Pune delivered an impressive lecture on 'What is DRM? DRM broadcast from AIR Pune' and explained DRM technology to public. Staff of AIR Pune namely LV Akolkar, Dhananjaya Patwardhan, Jyoti Kulwar, CVR Murthy, AK Hebbalkar, Laxman Bhalerao, ML Mane & Umesh invested their whole saturday at the event showcasing demo of DRM receiver on Car Dashboard and explaining advantages of DRM broadcasting. Every member participated actively and with full heart.The extent of involvement and enthusiasm can be judged by a small example - Shri Murty chose to bring & deploy his own car in exhibition, which he had bought just last week to showcase the DRM. These are really proud moments for AIR Pune Family.
'Quiz on Radio' Quiz Master Mr. Vinay RR MVP Pune conducted the quiz competition. Quiz was designed by SWL Vishwas Kale. Shri. Vishwas Kale also delivered speech on 'Radio Yesterday, today & Tomorrow'. It was followed by 'Radio Listening is my Hobby' by VU3UEL Dilip Bapat from Alibag with a demo. Many students shown keen interest to attend exhibition and attended speeches and demos. The response from Radio listeners and lovers was awesome.
