Mumbai FC coach Kashyap confident of another positive performance and win against Churchill Brothers
Mumbai, January 14: After launching their campaign on a bright victorious note, Mumbai FC are keen to maintain their fine winning form when they take on Churchill Brothers, Goa in a second round I-League encounter at the Tilak Maidan ground, Vasco, Goa on Sunday evening. The match kicks-off at 4.30 pm.
Mumbai FC, the lone representation from the city in this national club competition, had defeated DSK Shivajians, Pune in the the first ‘Maharashtra Derby’, the opening round I-League match at the Cooperage ground in Mumbai, last Sunday.
Santosh Kashyap, the Head Coach of Mumbai FC is confident of another positive performance from his team and strongly believes that they can come out with a win against the Goan outfit. “We played well in our first game which we won. I’m absolutely confident of another good showing my team. With all due respects to Churchill Brothers, we will fight hard and go all out for a win,” Kashyap said at the pre-match briefing.
“The mood in our camp is upbeat and all the players are in good shape and are determined to give their best against the Goan club,” said the Mumbai coach.
“I reiterate that we will continue to play good attacking and attractive brand of football and look for a positive result. We hope the Goan people come out and watch our style of play and I assure them that they would not be disappointed,” he further added.
Meanwhile, Churchill Brothers coach Alfred Fernandes wants to quickly put behind the 1-0 defeat at the hands of Mohun Bagan in the opening match last week and put up a improved performance. “In the last game we were not fully set and struggled a bit. We also did not convert from the chances we created and were also denied by the framework. But, now we have worked on trying to cut down our mistakes and I am certain that we will put up a better display against the Mumbai team,” Fernandes stated.
Meanwhile, Kashyap has not finalized on his starting eleven. “Except for Allan Dias who is still nursing an ijury and will continue to sit the other 20 members are all ready to play. I will take a call on the final composition of team on Sunday morning. But more or less it would be same team which played in the last match.”
