Erica , Pavlo power Mumbai to semis Leading from the front and ably assisted by Pavlo , Erica Weibe pulled Mumbai Maharathi back from the brink of defeat and inspired her team to a 4-3 victory over Delhi Sultans in the PWL on Friday.Defending champions Mumbai Maharathi thus made the semi-finals of this premier wrestling event keeping their hopes alive of retaining the title they won on the inaugural year.
With the tie scores reading 3-2 on Delhi's favor the unbeaten Erica took the floor against Alina and though suffering from a nose bleed in the first round, Erica overpowered Alina to win 3-0 and level scores setting the stage for Pavlo to make his mark.
Pitted again against Satyavart Kadian, Pavlo was not off to the best of starts and was staring at a 0-3 deficit at the end of the 1st round. However Pavlo got into his own in the second round scoring three points with consecutive push outs. Pavlo then scored two take downs along with another push out to score a comfortable 8-3 victory and seal the tie in Mumbai Maharathi's favor.
