NSE Academy & IGNOU join hands for stock markets courses

New Delhi: The NSE Academy Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE) and The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) have come together to offer certificate and diploma courses, related to stock markets. NSE and IGNOU have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to offer certification programs namely Certificate Program on Derivatives and Option Trading Strategies, Certificate Program on Securities Market analysis and Certificate Program on Financial Modeling and Algorithm Trading.
Mr. Ravi Varanasi, Chief of Business Development, NSE and CEO, NSE Academy and Mr. S K Sharma-Registrar Admin, IGNOU have signed an MOU in the presence of Dr Ravindra Kumar- Vice Chancellor (In-Charge), IGNOU, Prof. Madhu Tyagi- Director, School of Management Studies (SOMS) along with officials from IGNOU and NSE Academy on 24 January 2017.
This is the first time that NSE Academy will offer courses through distance learning mode. NSE Academy and School of Management Studies, IGNOU will jointly develop content for these three certification programs and subsequently for diploma programs. NSE Academy will be training the faculty of IGNOU as well.
Mr. Ravi Varanasi said “These certification programs will offer exclusive opportunity to aspirants, who want to make a career in stock markets, to gain well-structured knowledge through distance learning. IGNOU and NSE Academy will leverage their joint strengths to provide practical and employable skills to youth.”
Dr Ravindra Kumar- Vice Chancellor IGNOU said, “IGNOU has been in forefront for bringing transformational change in society through education and skill development. These programs will enhance the skills and employability of the students pursuing these courses and will contribute to the skill development initiatives of the government.”
Some of these programs are expected to be launched from the July session of 2017.   Admission for these certificate programs will be done through the admission process followed by IGNOU.
NSE Academy offers several courses starting from Class IX right upto the post-graduation level. Through a tie up with CBSE, NSE Academy runs courses as part of the school curriculum. Besides, NSE Academy runs BBA and MBA courses on Financial markets in several key Universities across India, like the Indraprastha University, Punjabi University, Lovely Professional University and Ravenshaw University to name a few. These courses provide complete vertical mobility to students and the preparedness for a career in the financial sector.
