800 fighters for National Taekwondo C’ship
Around 800 leading Taekwondo exponents from across the nation will be seen in action in the Mumbai Consul General Cup National Taekwondo Championship, which will be held from November 26 to November 28 at the Bharat Ratna Rajiv Gandhi Sports Complex, Dharavi, and Mumbai.
The inaugural event is supported by the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Mumbai and would be guided and organised by KUKKIWON (World Taekwondo Headquarters).
Taekwondo, a traditional Korean martial art and global sport is a discipline that enhances our spirit and life through training our body and mind. Taekwondo is loved by 80 million members from 206 countries and 5 continents and plays the most important role in uniting the world into one single community.
Grand Master Lee Jeonghee is the Organising Chairman of the Taekwondo Championship, who is a 7th Dan (Chil Dan) ranked Black Belt and represents KUKKIWON.
The occasion will be graced by PankajaMunde-Palwe, Minister of Rural Development, Women and Child Welfare as well as Maharashtra State Guardian Minister for Latur District and Beed district.
The best Taekwondo Demonstration Team in the world, from KUKKIWON, will perform at the opening ceremony on Monday at 3.00 p.m.
Grand Master Sun Jang Lee, Professor, Keimyung University, South Korea would also be conducting a seminar for participants and coaches.
