Mumbai 17th Nov 2017: The 32nd show of “Shivrudrache Digvijayi Tandav”, a special musical concert inspired by the conduct, thoughts and ideals of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and his brave warriors will be held for the first time in the history at newly renovated Mumbai City’s iconic Royal Opera House onNovember 26, 2017 at 5pm. Situated on Charni Road, near Girgaum Chowpatti Beach, the Royal Opera House in Mumbai is a British colonial structure and the only surviving opera house in India. The show speaks on topics of Medieval History through its effective narration, songs, visuals, dance and weaponry and stands apart from the many ballads composed on Shivaji, because it lays the focus on Shivaji’s many valiant warriors. The grand musical has got even more majestic as noted Historian and expert on the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Maharashtra Bhushan Shivshahir Babasaheb Purandare will be narrating the history, himself which will be supported byspecially curated historic songs that will trace the Life Of Chhatrapati Shivaji.
The 95 year old Shivshahir Babasaheb Purandare is the foremost expert on the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji and the Maratha Empire. This show comes at an opportune time as recently The Royal Opera House, Mumbai, was honored by the 'Heritage Award' by UNESCO. ‘Shivrudrache Digvijayi Tandav’, was conceptualized by Mumbai based Saisha Foundation Mumbai in 2011 and which has since then performed across the country including top education institutes like IIM Ahmedabad to educate and enlighten people especially youth of today on the values of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and his Brave warriors”.

The show has 42, specially curated historic songs based on the 17th Century era of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and the Swarajya movement. The songs are penned in Marathi and also effectively communicated in English & Hindi through narratives. The program is presented in an audio-visual format supported with live performances to suit the aura.

He is an ardent preacher of history since college days who got attracted to the vision of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj when he traversed the terrains of the Sahyadris.

‘Shivrudrache Digvijayi Tandav’ is historic Broadway, which is purely for educational purpose of Nation Buildingl. The program starts with the traditional Gondhal performance and eventually builds up taking the audience back to the 17thCentury. It has songs which also highlight the 27 years where Maharashtra fought brave heartedly after the demise of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Shivrudrache Digvijayi Tandav puts light on subjects like Shivraya’s naval vision, his administrative qualities, farsightedness, his intelligence system, fortification, trade and commerce, flawless character, leadership qualities, management techniques. The program's director and narrator were awarded the Mumbai Mayor Award 2014 for the sincere attempt towards nation building. Through Shivrudrache Digvijayi Tandav, we are highlighting important aspects of Nation Building by citing various positive examples for development of a supreme nation and how as individuals we can excel in life by inculcating the values laid down by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
