Chennai, 30th March: Veteran Actor -Director Sasikumar, made a special appearance for the SemiFinals of Zee Tamil’s flagship singing show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. Over the last weeks, Varsha & Srinidhi - contestants of the show have already been named Finalists by Music Director Imman & Multifaceted celebrity T.Rajendran respectively.
The show that started with over 40 contestants participating in the blind audition has now come down to 6 contestants competing to be the top three Finalists. The theme of the semi-finals is One-on-One where the contestants would compete with one another in various genres and the winner would enter the Finale.
As special guest of the Semi Finals, Sasikumar was in awe and appreciation of the show and the contestants and he said, “Listening to songs being orchestrated LIVE, gives me goosebumps!”
Listening to Rockstar Ramaniammal, the 63 year old contestant, the wonderstruck SasiKumar exclaimed, “You are like my mother! The doors of my home is always open for you. You are an icon of our tradition and culture. I will definitely make you sing in my films..”
Sasikumar was all praise for the Punjabi contestant Jaskaran, that he gave him a standing ovation. Sasikumar also requested him to sing “Alaporan Tamizhan” song from Mersal, which gained Jaskaran much popularity. On listening to “En Kadhalae” rendered by the wildcard contestant Sanjay, Sasikumar commented,” Your song would entice those not in love as well!”
Towards the end of the episode, Sasikumar also announced the next two contestants to join the Finale.
The show that launched in October is gearing up for its Finals which is expected to happen on April 14.
