Mumbai, 30th September, 2017: After enduring 15 weeks of ‘Pain in Spain’, fighting with tigers and snakes, performing daredevil stunts and braving multiple fears, Shantanu Maheshwari emerged as the winner of Season 8 of Khatron Ke Khiladi. Controversies, Drama and Adventure, the show that had it all has culminated with a grand finale with the same spunk that it has begun. Keeping with his nick name of ‘Baby Shark’, Shantanu walked away with the winning title after defeating Television’s favourite ladies – Nia Sharma and Hina Khan.
While the season has been full of adrenaline rush, the real tadka was added to season finale episode when task master Rohit Shetty and Ajay Devgan reunited along with other cast from Golmaal Again. Arshad Warsi, Shreyas Talpadem Tusshar Kapoor and Tabugave stellar performances in the grand finale.
Shantanu Maheshwari beat Hina Khan in the final stunt by a mere 7 seconds! Shantanu’s journey from Baby Shark to Khatron Ke Khiladi has been roller coaster ride. From being forced to sit in a van which was sprayed excessively with chili pepper spray, to being dragged by jeeps he did everything to deserve the victory! Ever since pain in Spain started, Shantanu has been daring and fearless and gave his 100 percent despite having hydrophobia and fear of heights. As a grand prize, Shantanu takes homes with him a whopping amount; as well as a swanky new Jeep Compass.
Speaking on his electrifying journey and winning the ultimate Khatron Ke Khiladi title, Shantanu Maheshwari said, “Ever since I was young. I was fascinated with stunts and challenging tasks and always wanted to try my hand at it. When Khatron Ke Khiladi came my way, I grabbed the opportunity without any hesitation. I had fear of water and heights and this looked like perfect way to overcome my phobias. The whole journey was not only challenging but extremely fun for me. Every stunt demanded a better stronger me. The mantra to perform better each time for me was to keep my calm and focus all my energy only at task at hand. I am very happy that I pushed myself to experiment something new and challenging. The Shantanu that went in the show is definitely not the same Shantanu that came out of the show.”
