Extending the celebrations on-air this year, EPIC invites viewers on a journey that includes lesser-known stories from the regions. The day long showcase on May 1, from 12 noon to 7 pm includes tales from Kahi Suni including the story of Sita-Haran (the kidnapping of Sita by demon king Ravana) in Nashik and the formation of Krishna's city Dwarka in Gujarat. Also travel with Juhi Chawla to Trimbakeshwar and Somnath temples, in Sharanam – Safar Vishwaas Ka.
Speaking about the special content line-up, Akul Tripathi, Content & Programming Head, EPIC TV, said “We live in a land of legacies built by interloping cultures that have created an astonishing diversity, with layers that tell stories not just of the places and people, but of us as a country. On this Maharashtra and Gujarat Day, EPIC joins in the celebration of these two remarkable states and their unique gifts, without which, the story of India would never be complete.”
The special showcase also includes the abandoned sea-fort of Vijaydurg situated along the Konkan coast of Maharashtra and the story of the fort of Roha in Gujarat, both of which are witness to tales of riches to ruins, as the tempests of fate reduced the stone fortresses to mere whispers in the wind; in riveting episodes of Ekaant.
No journey is complete without a chapter on food. Don’t miss the forgotten recipes from Kutch in the noted series - Lost Recipes. Walk down the streets of Mohammad Ali Road in Mumbai and savour the aromas of Irani cafes and the lip-smacking bhel puri at Juhu Beach along with revisiting the resident Bombay Duck - a Koli delicacy in Raja Rasoi Aur Anya Kahaaniya.
Get set for an EPIC binge on the Maharashtra and Gujarat Day special on 1st May, 2018, 12 noon to 7 pm only on EPIC TV
