AIR Jepore - Pleasure in interviewing ordinary looking wonderful persons having extraordinary and exemplary achievements

Today (28th Feb.2019) was a Great Day in office.

I met and interacted with two wonderful persons those who have left indelible Imprints on the sands of time with their extraordinary and exemplary achievements in the fields organic farming and Biodiversity conservation.

Met Smt. Kamala_Pujari, a lady from Jeypore Koraput, who is nominated for the prestigious Padma Shree Award this year , for her conservation & preservation of more than 256 varieties of Paddy crop germplasms, most of which are either extinct or on the verge of extinction. Smt. Kamala Pujari was invited to the Radio Kishan Diwas-2019 function. But due to her failing health she couldn't attend the show. Me along with my colleague Shri Manoj Kumar Samantaray visited her house and presented her the Shawl & the Radio set. Ohhhhhh, her happiness knew no bounds, just unfathomable.
May God bless her always.

Then we visited the farm house and residence of Shri_Netrananda_Lenka, a progressive farmer of Patraput, Koraput District who is considered as 'One Man with many Missions'. Shri Lenka retired from the Forest Department in 2008, then purchased 8 acres of land in Patraput and set up his Farm House. He has everything, literally growing everything in his land - Paddy, cereals, Pulses, Fruits, vegetables, Dairy Farming, Green House, Bamboo Cultivation, Integrated Farming, Azolla culture, Earth worm farming, vermi compost, Fishery, Bio Gas Plant - and what not..... Every cultivation & farming are done with Organic manures - not a gram of chemical fertilizer or insecticides used in the land. Unbelievable achievements on the part of a retired person completely dedicated to the cause of Eco-Farming.. Hat's off to you, Respected Netrananda Babu.
