Starring Rajkummar Rao and Kriti Khabanda in lead roles and set in the backdrop of India's civil services, Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana explores the challenges of a middle-class couple in India. Directed by Ratnaa Sinha, Zee Cinema, Home Of Blockbusters is all set to air the World Television Premiere of this romantic drama on Saturday, 17th March at 8 PM.
Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana is a complete family entertainer that will amuse the audience and make one squirm and livid with rage in equal measure as the film deals with issues like bribery, dowry, class and gender disparity, revenge, jealousy and eternal love. The movie boasts of a stellar supporting cast comprising of Navni Parihar, Govind Namdev, Manoj Pahwa, K. K. Raina, Alka Amin and Vipin Sharma who convincingly bring across the strong and deep-rooted ideologies of a middle-class Indian family. Adding another feather to the hat, the song ‘Pallo Latke’ sung by Jyotica Tangri has become a nation-wide craze and a party anthem. Jyotica Tangri also bagged the prestigious Zee Cine Award 2018 for the Best Playback Singer.
Hailing from a conservative family, Aarti Shukla (Kriti Kharbanda), an educated girl from Kanpur, falls in love with her arranged match Satyendra aka Sattu. (Rajkummar Rao). Sattu’s stable government job and upper class family background impresses her parents while his humility and liberal thoughts, win over Aarti. The two families set out to make wedding arrangements and all seems fine until the day of wedding when an unexpected chain of events turns their lives upside down. When torn between domesticity and career, Aarti chooses the latter and runs away leaving Sattu at the altar. Five years later, Aarti, now a PCS officer, is accused of taking a bribe. The man examining her case is none other than Satyendra who is now an IAS officer, a grade above hers. The madly in love Sattu comes back into Aarti’s life in an all new avatar and uses his position to avenge his humiliation; while Aarti swears she is innocent. What follows next is the simmering tension, regret and passion between two former lovers who are meant to be together.
