Shanghai is under attack as the Japanese forces occupy the city, spreading terror among the residents. Chen Zhen, who was presumed dead, returns to fight against the Japanese and end their rule. Directed and produced by Andrew Lau, starring Donnie Yen and Su Qui, Legend of the Fist: The Return of Chen Zhen, is the sequel to Fist of Legend. Seven years after the apparent death of Chen Zhen (Donnie Yen), who was shot after discovering the murderer of his teacher (Huo Yuanjia), a mysterious stranger arrives in Japanese-occupied Shanghai. He is none-other than Chen Zhen who has travelled for miles to save Shanghai. He infiltrates the mob and forms an alliance with the Japanese by befriending a local mafia boss. Disguising himself as a caped fighter by night, Chen intends to take out everyone involved. The Japanese has prepared an assassination list which spreads terror throughout the city. Chen plans to get his hands on that list and save Shanghai from a dreaded future.
