Mydala is an e-commerce website that provides discount offers to restaurants, gyms, travel, grocery and household products. Anisha Singh is the CEO of Mydala.
It was founded by Anisha Singh along with Ashish Bhatnagar and Arjun Basu in 2009. It has its headquarters in New Delhi, India. This is the second company started by Anisha, but it is her first in India.
Anisha was born into a big joint family in Delhi and she calls herself a typical sardarni. Anisha Singh holds a Master's degree in political communication and an MBA from American University in Washington DC. She spent 12 years on the East Coast and has worked for Clinton Administration helping women entrepreneurs to rise funding for innovative women-led businesses. Anisha started a company which provided digital content to companies in US. And when it didn't require her for full time, mydala came into existence.
Anisha said that she has a thing for unusual names. Her first company was called Kinis. So, she explained that 'dala' is a Sanskrit word which means group. And so, mydala means my group.
Anisha says that her two daughters, aged six and two are what make everything worthwhile. Her daughters and her husband are her source of inspiration and strength.
Mydala is India's largest local services marketing platform, present in 209 Indian cities and 28 million registered users.
She is a great supporter of women rights and encourages them to do what they want to and supports them to battle their fears.
Anisha has spoken at various high profile platforms such as Start-up India, Surge, TEDx, WIRED London, One Global Conference and GMIC. She was also chosen as a rising talent in 2016 by the women's forum in France. Anisha has also won several awards such as Zee TV's Women Achiever Award for Outstanding Young Entrepreneur 2016. The e-INC Awards for e-Commerce entrepreneur of the year 2016.
Anisha Singh is a true woman of substance. What she has achieved in such young age is truly appreciable. She sure serves as a true source of inspiration to many women in India who wish to become entrepreneurs or to all women in general.
