In Jammu and Kashmir, All India Radio Kargil Observed International Mother Language Day during which all the staff members, programmers and engineers participated.On this occasion Lobzang Namgyal Programme Head All India Radio Kargil, while briefing about the day told that All India Radio Kargil is a Language Specific Station, which has contributed a lot in reviving the dying language of Purig and in this mission Regional News Unit Kargil has contributed a lot by improving the language used during Purgi News.
He urged upon the programmers to contribute in making each and every programme language specific and try to be an ambassador of the language as Radio has a role in refining and introducing obsolete words which are vanishing from the society.He also informed that the Purgi Version of Mann Ki Baat has been awarded with a certificate by the Himalayan Heritage and Cultural Organization recently during a programme which is a proof of the contribution made by the All India Radio Kargil for promoting and uplifting Purgi language.
On this occasion DDO Shahid Anwar Khan, Copy Editor Mohammad Abdullah, Anayat Ali, Mohammad Yousuf, Zankir Hussain, Noor Mohammad and all the staff participated.
