C.P Rajasekharan(71),a former a Station Director of All India Radio, Mangalore and Kozhikode expires





C.P Rajasekharan(71),a former a Station Director of All India Radio,Mangalore and Kozhikode, breathed his last in a private hospital in Thrissur, Kerala,today morning. A multi- faceted personality,who carved a niche for himself in broacasting with his mesmerizing voice,he had won several honours including Kerala Sahitya Academy award for drama,Kerala Sangeeth Nataka Academy award for broadcasting and Akashvani annual awards. He authored about 20 books and hundreds of light songs.After retirement, he became the founding editor of the Malayalam daily,Suprabhatham. He lent voices and directed several radio and professional plays. 

Hailing from Paravur,near Kochi,he started his career as a staff announcer in AIR,Thrissur and later became a Programme Executive, selected by UPSC.He also served as Deputy Director in Dootdarshan Kendra's, including Shillong and Thiruvananthapuram .He had directed several documentary films too. Known popularly as CPR,he is survived by his wife C.M.Shylajadevi,a former staff announcer,and two daughters.
